The Way We Were

December, 2008

The T-shaped brick-and-terra-cotta-tile building that opened on the corner of Reynolda Road and Northwest Boulevard was built to house Quality Oil Company. The opening took place December 10, 1938, and was “dedicated to the satisfaction of the motoring public.” Quality Oil started in 1930, and the five partners in 1938 were Bert and Paul Bennett, and Joe, Archer, and James Glenn. Today the building is being refurbished to house a theater and offices.
